A resident of Salt Spring island recommended a stop at Galiano Island, so we headed to Montague Harbor, a calm, large and protected bay on Galiano with Canadian marine park containing a first nation’s midden site. The madrone trees, with their warm, glowing bark stand out against the evergreens.
Duke got a much needed spa treatment on the swim step, helping reduce prolific shedding.
With our new crab trap, weighted line, buoy, fishing gloves, bait and fishing licenses, it was time to try catching our own dinner.
Our crabbing expeditions were unsuccessful, so we went ashore on a rainy evening to catch the bus to Hummingbird Inn for dinner. The food was unremarkable, but we won’t forget Tommy Transit who drove us.
Edging Forward 
We spent three nights in Montague Bay while we were just up there. And eight of us took the bus to the restaurant. What a kick!
