Ganges Harbor, Salt Spring Island

Arrived at Ganges on Saltspring Island Saturday morning in time for the much heralded Farmer’s/Art Market. Weather has been cold and rainy, consistently in the 50’s, making exploring challenging with a 90 pound lab who navigates the small dingy unstably. People everywhere want to pet him but he is a magnet for local dirt, and every trip to and from shore involves mud. Newest lesson – arrange for a slip in inclement weather.

Seaplanes come and go past Kama Hele – we don’t tire of watching them.

  1. So glad you’re getting this experience. We love the Gulf Islands and the San Juan Islands. Where are you headed next? Love the pictures and stories! Love, Cuz Sent from my iPad

  2. Plan to keep inching north. On Galiano Island now (Montague Harbor), from here we’ll overnight in Telegraph Harbor, then to Ladysmith and Nanimo. We want to see Campbell River, then cross Strait of Georgia and make our way to Desolation Sound. Got our fishing licenses – come teach us how to properly crab! Love you, Cuz!
